Work is Working on Me

(2 minute read)

ESuccess Sayingver since I decided to embark upon my journey of self-employment, I have been so nervous and full of fear. It’s been unfamiliar territory that I’m slowly having to conquer. No regular paycheck to fall back on. The hardest part of all of this has been learning to trust and believe in myself.

Along with being self-employed, I’m also writing a book. And, I have felt like a bit of a hypocrite because it’s a book for entrepreneurs about improving self-confidence. Writing this book is working more on me than I am working on it. As I write the book, it’s changing my life. Diving into the research and the writing fills my mind with healthy thoughts. The more I write, the more that good thoughts seem to stick with me. They’re becoming more natural than the negative tape that has been playing on a loop in my head for the past few years.

You can’t wait until you feel like you’re ready to do some things. If you wait, you’ll never feel ready enough, or good enough, or expert enough….or whatever you feel you need enough of. You often have to leap out and “just do it” until it feels natural.

The farther I go along my journey the more I believe in myself. I could have never began to believe if I had never taken that beginning step. Each little ounce of belief gained along the way is enough to keep me going another step.
